Antibiotic Free Pigs
An important and current topic, a challenge to assure animal health and welfare as well as our consumer health.
We ensure a responsible antibiotic use. What does it mean? It means that we no longer give pigs antibiotics starting from their 49th day of life, so as the World Health Organization suggests (link) in order to prevent the dangerous consequences of an excessive use of antibiotics in animal breeding farms. Moreover, our supply chain "antibiotic free" is Kiwa certified (Norm DT35 ALI 01894).
This choice has been guided by a direct reason and a more indirect and ethical one. Firstly, it ensures the complete absence of antibiotic residues in our meat, secondly, it prevents the spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, a very important issue nowadays.
This meaningful choice needs constant controls and significant investments in the housing structure, which must be healthy and not crowded. Produce less to produce better. This is our motto, because the care we give to our animals is led by the great consideration for the quality we want to give to our consumers.
We are proud to produce high-quality Antibiotic Free Italian
niche cured meats.
